What is News Inkubator?

News Inkubator will be a place where a sales, administration and business service team collaborate with and help nurture profitable and sustainable hyperlocal and vertical news sites that together will cover the varied communities of Philadelphia.

Participating news sites will remain editorially independent but have access to a variety of acceleration and development services.

Whose idea is this?

The authors of this News Inkubator proposal are the three founders of Technically Philly, a news site that covers technology, entrepreneurship and innovation in the Philadelphia region.

Technically Philly and News Inkubator have twice received coverage in Harvard University's Nieman Journalism Lab. Once as part of a profile and another piece placing Technically Philly in context of the larger journalism ecosystem.
